TFAS LEADERSHIP FELLOWS

ABOUT THE PUBLIC POLICY FELLOWS PROGRAM
The program is a year-long networking and education program designed to develop young leaders with a shared commitment to helping improve public policy. The goal of the fellowship program is to provide events that allow young alumni to:
- Develop strong connections to other alumni working in public policy
- Network with key public policy leaders
- Participate in academic discussion sessions led by TFAS Faculty
- Enhance their professional development through skill-based sessions
All Fellows must commit to attending two weekend retreats and monthly speaker events scheduled throughout the year. The 2012 events have not been set but below is a sample schedule from 2011:
- Reception honoring the 2010 and 2011 Fellows: February 15, 2011
- Winter Retreat: February 25 - 27, 2011 (Gettysburg, Pa.)
- Good to Great Book Discussion: March 22, 2011
- Annual Conference Dinner: April 14, 2011
- Ten Characters with Character Book Discussion: May 17, 2011
- Speaker Event: June 21, 2011
- Networking Event: July 19, 2011
- Speaker Event: September 20, 2011
- Fall Retreat: October 1 - 2, 2011
- Speaker Event: November 15, 2011
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS All applicants must:
- Be an alumnus of one of The Fund for American Studies Institutes
- Work in the field of public policy
- Be committed to the ideals of free markets and limited government
- Live and work in the Washington, DC area.
- It’s recommended that applicants have at least 1-2 years of work experience, but all with a strong resume will be considered
