TFAS President Roger Ream (E 76) awards Ronald Hart (E 81) with the 2011 Kevin Burket Alumni Service Award. Hart is one of five new appointees on TFAS leadership boards.

We are excited to announce that there have been several changes to the Board of Trustees and the Board of Regents here at The Fund for American Studies. Ronald Hart (E 81) has been named a member of our Board of Trustees, while C. B. Cox and J.A. Parker have been named Trustees Emeritus. Hart is Managing Director of Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Atlanta, Ga., and he is a 1981 graduate of The Fund’s Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems. Frederick Long has been named regent emeritus.  Eric Tanenblatt has been named a co-chair of the Board of Regents. Daniel McConchie (J 93, A 95) and Theresa Kostrzewa (E 84) have also been appointed to our Board of Regents.

Finally, we are very pleased to announce that Professor Andy Morriss has been named the Leon and Mabel Weil Professor at TFAS. Professor Morriss serves on the faculty of the TFAS Asia Institute for Political Economy in Hong Kong. The position has been funded through a gift directed to TFAS by the children of the Weils, in honor of their late parents. Ambassador Weil served as a trustee of The Fund until his death, and both Ambassador and Mrs. Weil devoted their lives to the cause of freedom, in the United States and Asia, especially in Nepal, where Lee Weil served as Ambassador from 1984 to 1987.
